About this item
A scarce WW11 Italian Arditi (Special Forces) Sleeve badge measuring just 35 mm x 30 mm, hand embroidered in gold wire on a field grey wool backing. The badge is in very good condition.
Although disbanded after WW1, during WW2 the British SAS showed that such units were actually useful, and the Italian command scrambled to create his own special force named “10th Arditi Regiment". The 10th was organized in three groups, a paratroopers group, an amphibious group and a motorized group.
