    A scarce double maker marked example of the German 1898/05 "Butcher" Bayonet, dated 1917.

    This second type with one of the harder to find double makers marking combinations of "C. DIETRICH ALTENBURG" and on the other ricasso "GEBR HARTKOPF SOLINGEN.". 

    No visible date on the spine, although there is an Imperial inspection marking. Further inspection markings on the pommel.

    Housed in its original scabbard with some pitting toward the drag/finial.

    Untouched condition, old dried storage grease and grime to the blade, light rust to the hilt and crossguard and scabbard. Generally good overall condition.
