About this item
An original 1942 dated 1937 pattern webbing belt which was made in India.
This pattern of webbing belt came into issue with the British Army in 1938 and saw use throughout the Second World War as well as in the post-war period. It has been blanco'd with a light shade of blanco which is was most likely No. 97 which was popular throughout the Second World War. The brass parts of the belt are typical of India made items with one of the sliders being marked with the 1942 date to the rear (picture 4). The original markings are still present to the inside face of the belt and whilst worn the size of 'S' denoting small is visible as is the 1942 date.
A hard to find wartime dated belt in good condition and with an excellent period applied blanco finish.
