About this item
A Scarce original pair of British Army officer's linen trousers dating from the late Victorian period through to the Great War.
These trousers are cut in the 'patrol' style which was synonmous with British Army officer's for many decades. They clearly date from around the turn of the last century based on the materials used to produced them. Made from a khaki coloured linen material, these trousers would have been worn by an officer serving overseas in a hot climate. The trousers feature a high rise waist with fishtail back along with a narrow leg and flat front which give them an early 20th Century look. They also feature straight slash pockets to the hips, a ticket pocket to the waistband and no rear pockets. To the bottom of each leg is a length of elastic which fits into the wearer's instep. The trousers feature a button fly and more buttons around the waistband, all of which are period replacements.
The trousers will suit a 32" waist and when laid flat they measure -
Waist - 16 1/2"
Rise - 13"
Inside leg - 33"
Outside leg - 45"
Cuff - 7"
The trousers are in good condition for their age but do show signs of wear and use etc. They look to be wearable but are a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
A rare pair of early 20th Century British Army officer's trousers with some great details.
