About this item
An original RAF C Type Headband set dating from the Second World War.
This pattern of headband set was employed throughout the Second World War by members of the RAF he need receivers but did not wear a flying helmet. This included members of Coastal Command flying on aircraft such as the Sunderland as well as ground crew elements operating on wireless sets.
The headband consists of a metal frame with rubber pad to the top which bears the stores reference number of 10A/12160. Ear pieces are also present and bear the same stores code. They have a circular cut out to which receivers can be fitted and chamois leather is fitted to the side which sits against the skin.
The condition is good on the whole with some signs of wear and age. Please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-used item with some flaws commensurate with age.
A nice original wartime example with good clear markings.
