A thick and original 1943 dated book produced by His Majesty's Stationery Office, London. Book is coming apart, the front cover has come away (outer leaf may be missing) and the staples corroded, albeit still holding some of the pages together. Priced accordingly.
This series of books was produced by the British Government during the war to educate the public as to the progress of the war effort - may not be entirely impartial therefore. Inside the front cover contains the phrase 'There are men and women in the forces who would welcome a chance of reading this book. If you hand it in at the nearest Post Office, it will go to them'.
Chapters include; The Sweepers Win a Four Year Battle, Operation Dynamo and Ship-Destroying Engines.
