For sale is a WW2 The Royal Armoured Corps By Captain J R W Murland 1943 Publication. This is in good condition and is a 1st edition, containing 11 illustrations. 

  The preface states:   “IN addition to the inevitable war-time difficulties of publish ing, the war has imposed several other handicaps on this book. Certain modern tendencies in tactics, and hence in tank design, cannot be discussed for security reasons and their influence on the Royal Armoured Corps in general will, I think, be important. Many facts, and particularly mechanical details, were found to be extremely hard to check, particularly as much of the book was written 'under canvas' during a busy training period. Finally, just as the MS was almost complete, I received orders which meant leaving the country. Errors there must be in a book like this, but there is none, I hope, that distorts the picture I have tried to present of the growth of the Royal Armoured Corps to what it is to-day. I have drawn freely on the published sources given in the bibliography and on as many others as I could find in rather difficult circumstances, but there must still be a great deal of valuable untapped information. My sincere thanks are due to the many officers in my regiment on whom I have inflicted parts of the book in its early stages; to my wife who has helped me with more of the book than I care to admit; and to Mr. Cecil Hunt, without whose continual encouragement and aid it would never have been written or published. I have always felt the need for an account of the Royal Armoured Corps' history and development and I hope this book will be of some service to others in this respect. J.R.W.M.
