An original World War One Victory Medal, correctly named as follows;
10583 PTE. J. HAYWARD. YORK. R.
James Hayward was entitled to a 15 Star trio, and is noted on CWGC as having been killed in action on 23 July 1916. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, where he is known as Richard James Hayward.
