A VERY RARE EARLY WWII HMS LATONA CAP TALLY THIS IS A FULL LENGTH EXAMPLE IN UNWORN CONDITION HOW EVER HAS STORAGE WEAR TO IT .
HMS LATONA WAS A MINELAYER OF THE ABDIEL - CLASS WAS LAID DOWN ON THE 4TH APRIAL 1939 LUANCHED ON THE 20TH AUGUST 1940 AND COMMISSIONED ON THE 4th MAY 1941 SHE SAW SERVICE IN THE MEDITRIAN BEING MAINLY USED AS A SUPPLY SHIP ( NOT HER ORIGNAL INTEDED ROLL ) SHE WAS SUNK ON THE 25th OCTOBER 1941 ARFTER BEING HIT BY A GERMAN 500 KG BOMB DROPED BY A STUKA OFF BARDIA HMS LATONA HAD EMBARKED 1,000 POLISH TROOPS FROM TROBUK A FIRE WHICH WAS STARTED BY THE BOMB WAS OUT OF CONTROLL AND THE SHIP WAS ABANDONED WITH THE AID OF 2 DESTROYERS WHO TOOK OF THE CREW AND MOST OF THE POLISH TROOPS THE SHIPS COMPANY LOST 4 OFFICERS AND 16 CREW MEMBERS DIED OUT OF 242 ALONG SIDE THESE WHERE 7 POLISH TROOPS WHO ALSO DIED 2 HRS ARFTER THE SHIP WAS ABANDERNED SHE EXPLODED AS THE FIRE HIT THE MAIN MAGAZINE SINKING THE SHIP .
