About this item
A good example of a 1796 Light Cavalry Troopers Sword.
This example marked to "Gill" on the spine.
Typical D guard with twin langets, the grip down to the bare wood, possibly a period replacement, but all holding solid.
Blade with inspection mark "1" with a crown above.
33 inch blade with single fuller.
Housed in correct scabbard, with twing hanging rings. Beginings of a split opening up along the seam, which could be corrected if desired. The whole sword is "as found" and would benefit from some gentle cleaning and TLC.
