    About this item

A highly unusual British 1827 Pattern Royal Navy Officers Sword. The original owner has obtained himself a Spanish Toledo rapier blade, and has taken it to Wilkinson Sword for mounting.

The Blade etched "FCA DE TOLEDO 1871" (The FCA being short for "Fabrica")

Wilkinson sword obviously obliged the officer, but did add a mild caveat to the left hand ricasso:

"Mounted by Wilkinson Pall Mall, London".

Likely to show that the blade itself was not procured from them!

It might be possible to consult Wilkinson's order books and see if there is a record of this transaction, which would allow an avenue of research.

    Blade length 29.75 inches.

A very interesting sword, in excellent condition throughout, with the exception of the original knot, which has seen better days.

    Strictly over 18's only.
