    About this item

A good example of the British 1853 Pattern Universal Cavalry Troopers Sword.

As this example doesn't bear a makers marking, or any British acceptance stamps, it is possibly an export blade for the American Civil War.

The knuckle bow is engraved with a regimental marking "S.N.D. 29". It seems likely to have served with a Dragoon unit, although which one is unknown to me.

    Blade length 34.5 inches.

Blade in good condition, a shallow but noticable edge knick one third of the way down the cutting edge.

    Strictly over 18's only.
