    Original US Army, WW2 era, shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI).  The patch would have been worn on the shirts and jackets of US GIs who served in this unit.  Original period item.

    This particular AAF patch is believed to be theatre made, being a slight darker tha usual cotton twill material, with cheesecloth backing, possibly Italian made.
