Original 1952 Dated French Army M47 Tunic

An original 1952 Dated French Army Model 1947 Combat Jacket in excellent condition. 

This pattern of tunic was introduced in the immediate post-war years and saw service in Indochina and the Algerian War amongst other places.

The tunic is made from a heavy weight, green coloured cotton drill and features a full button front. The front of the jacket features chest pockets and lower pockets and epaulettes are located to the shoulders. The cuff features a tab which fastens with chocolate brown buttons. The same buttons are used to fasten the front, the pockets and to secure the epaulettes. 

Inside the jacket there is a drawstring at the waist which is made from cotton tape. The original markings are also present to the interior and feature the maker's name, the 1952 date and the size of 26. 

The tunic will suit around a 40-42" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures - 

Chest - 23 1/2"
Inside arm - 21 1/2"
Outside arm - 23 1/2"
Length - 28 1/2"
Shoulders - 19"

The jacket is in great condition as can be seen in the pictures. It is still very crisp and fresh and shows only very limited signs of previous wear and use. Please study the pictures provided.
