    For sale is a WW1 British Medal Duo To Wounded Pte W G Curtis East Surrey Regiment & Research.

      Both the victory medal and British war medal is engraved “19092 Pte W G Curtis E Surr R”.    William George Curtis was born on the 2nd of April 1898. And before enlisting into the British army he was living at 13 Belmont Bidgs, Picton street, Camberwell in London.    William enlisted into the British army on the 2nd of May 1916 aged 18 years and one month old. He served with the 9th battalion east Surrey regiment.    William served/ trained at home in England from the 2nd May 1916 until the 29th of august 1916. From the 30th of august 1916 until the 12th of January 1917 he served with the british expeditionary force. And then served in France from the 12th of January 1917 until the 16th of November 1917.    William was wounded in action on the 15th February 1917, from a gun shot wound to the right upper arm.   William was discharged from the British army on the 16th of November 1917 following a gun shot wound to the right upper arm whilst serving with the 9th battalion east Surrey regiment.    William was entitled to a British war medal, victory medal and a British wound badge. The wound badge is sadly missing. Badge number was 277096.   Accompanying this medal is 11 scans of his service records.
