For sale is a WW1 British War Medal To Wounded L/Cpl J McMann 9th Northumberland Fusiliers.
This British war medal has been converted into a disk, and is engraved on the rim “10632 Pte j McMann North’d fus” James McMann was born in 1893 in Blackfriars, London. James enlisted into the British army on the 2nd September 1914 in Newcastle. Upon joining the British army he started his service at the rank of private and by the end of the war had worked his way up to Lance Corporal in the 9th Northumberland fusiliers. He served at home from the 2nd September 1914 until the 14th of July 1915, he then served in France from the 15th of July 1915 until the 15th of May 1917, and then served the remainder of his service at home from the 14th of May 1918 until his discharge on the 7th September 1918. In total he served 4 years and 6 months. On the 31st May whilst service at home he was shot in the right ankle whilst on active service. And therefore entitled to a wound badge. During his service he was entitled and awarded the British war medal, victory medal, 1914-15 star and the wound badge. Unfortunately only the British war medal is present. Accompanying this medal is 6 scans of his service records. Upon payment please let me know if you would prefer digital scans or printed copies.
