    For sale is a WW1 & WW2 British Medal Group To Wounded Pte S L W Norwood Who Served With The 21st Company Machine Gun Corps.

      The ww1 British war medal and ww1 British victory medal are engraved “81401 Pte S L W Norwood MGC” and the special constabulary medal is engraved “Sidney Norwood”.    Sydney was born in 1898 in London. He lived at 38 Nursery Street, Clapham S W with his mother Jessy Norwood.    Upon enlisting Sydney was 18 years and two months old, he enlisted on the 30th august 1916.   At some point during his service he was promoted to Lance Corporal.    He was sent to hospital after having Pleurisy on the 19th of December in 1917. He was then wounded on the 22nd of January in 1918 and then entitled to wear a wound stripe. And later discharged.   He was entitled to the British war medal and victory medal which are both present.    In the 1930s he became a special Constable and was awarded a Special Constabulary Long Service Medal. The criteria was serving 9 years or more, accompanying this medal are to long service bars for 1948 and 1958.    Accompanying this medal is 12 scans of his service records.
