About this item
An original British Army webbing rifle slip, clearly dated 1942.
This pattern of case was made throughout the Second World War and is desgined to fit the Lee Enflied rifles. It is made from the standard cotton webbing used to make British equipment in both World Wars. The opening features a flap which fastens with a small tab and brass twig buckle. A pocket is fitted to the front which is designed to house a cleaning kit and again fastens with a tab and brass twig buckle.
The underside of the main flap features the makers name, the War Department broad arrow marking and the 1942 date.
The case is in goo condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are some limited signs of wear and use and a couple of small holes as pictured.
Overall a good example of this sought-after item.
