About this item
An original pair of British Army 1937 pattern cartridge carriers, dating from the Second World War.
These carriers were introduced in 1938 and were intended for men armed with a rifle but not serving in the infantry or with a Bren gun section. They saw widespread issue in the early part of the Second World War and appear in many period photographs from France in 1940.
This pair have clearly been worn together and have both been blancoed. They also both feature a unit marking to the rear which reads 2 COM 9.
The pouches are in used condition but display well.
A good, matched pair of 1937 pattern cartridge carriers.
