About this item
Black fiber helmet body with brass trim; excellent form and firm stitching with some scuffs
to the front visor. Interior has officer’s brown leather sweat band and green cloth headliner.
Interior of visors colored red and green. No extra holes in helmet body, but front plate has
been re-attached. Front plate is the Prussian line officer’s crowned eagle with crest and
ribbon bearing “MIT GOTT FUR KOENIG FR UND VATERLAND” . Large cross-shaped
spike base retained by 4 stars that are pin-backed. Tall four-sided top spike that unscrews
for plume attachment. Brass officer’s back spine. Original flat set of brass chinscales
attached to rosettes on each side with red cockades. Beautiful WWI era helmet that is a
real piece of history.
