    About this item

A very fine, attributed example of a (near!) complete Princess Mary Gift Tin.

The original owner has neatly inscribed his details on the bottom, thus opening up an avenue for research.

This would appear to read "H.E. LOCKET CORPORAL AMMUNITION COLUMN ?/7TH LONDON RFA"

It also retains the lions share of its original contents. As usual, the cigarettes have been opened, and in this instance one has been smoked, with nineteen remaining. The tobacco pouch is still sealed.

Complete with the 1914 dated Christmas card, which retains its original envelope, the flap being absent. It also has the photograph of Princess Mary with original backing card.

The tin retains a high proportion of its gilt finish, and is free from serious dents or splits. Tin closes firmly.

All in all a peachy little survivor.
