Awarded to Farrier George Burling of the 7th Dragoon Guards. Born in the parish, Army L.S. & G.C. (Vic. Issue). (1047. FARRIER. G. BURLING. 7th DRAGOON GDS.) Bobbingworth near Ongar in the County of Essex. He enlisted into the army on the 25th October 1855 at the age of 22 years. On enlistment into the army his civilian occupation is recorded on record as being a Gardener. He joined the 15th Infantry Regiment in Chelmsford in Essex. Later transferred with the trade of Farrier serving with the 7th Dragoon Guards. On the 23rd February 1877, 1047 Farrier George Burling attended the Regimental Board to which subsequently he was awarded his Army Long Service & Good Conduct medal, having served 21 years and 23 days in the army.
