    About this item

The 1940-1948 Bank of England K O Peppiatt Blue £1 One Pound Banknote is a vintage banknote that was issued by the Bank of England during World War II and the post-war period.

The banknote was designed by Kenneth Osmond Peppiatt, who was the Chief Cashier of the Bank of England at the time. The blue color of the banknote was chosen to distinguish it from other denominations and to prevent counterfeiting. The banknote was also smaller in size than previous versions, making it more portable and convenient for everyday use.
