Awarded to 434419 Private H.V.F. O’Donghue served with the 31st Battalion (Alberta) Canadian Infantry, Britiah War Medal (434419 PTE. H.V.F. O'DONOGHUE. 31-CAN. INF.). Saw service in the French Theatre of Operations in which he took part in the fighting in Somme. Commonwealth War Graves Commission reports Private H.V.F. O’Donoghue was serving with the 50th Battalion when he died on the 11th August 1918. (with copy C.W.G.C. details).
