German M42 helmet
Perhaps best described as an entry level but unmolested example of an EF62 M42 Helmet.
The shell is without damage and retains most of the original factory finish with just a small area of surface rust at the forward edge of the side flair.
On the left side are the remains of a removed shield shaped decal with flakes of silver remaining.
Inside, the lot number is no longer discernible. The liner fits closely to the shell and shows no signs of ever having been removed. The leather has been dressed at some time with leather preservative and three of the eight tongues show some damage. The drawstring is not original.
Both pieces of the 1942 dated chinstrap are in place but the long end is broken.
