    Nice pair awarded to 45518 Private Walter Jesse Clarke who served with the 8th Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment. British War Medal & Victory Medal (45518 PTE. W. J. CLARKE. R. BERKS. R.). Records show that he enlisted into the army on the 15th January 1918. He was later discharged on 19th December 1918 due to wounds he received whilst serving abroad. Records show he was awarded Silver Wound Badge 45518. The British War Medal & Victory Medal was his only medal entitlement. Born 1900 in the Parish of St Giles, Early St Bartholomew, Reading in Berkshire. (with copy MIC, medal roll, SWB roll & 1901 Census).
