About this item
The third from the Chindit collection is this morale boosting printed letter from Major General W Lentaigne to Chindits coming out of Burma for rest.
Measuring approximately 342mm x 215mm the letter is in very good multi folded condition.
The text is a combination of praise, a reminder of behaviour during their rest and a warning about idle talk.
Dated 26th April 1944 and facsimile signed by Lentaigne following his appointment as Commander, Special Forces following the death of Orde Wingate in a plane crash. The last image is of Lentaigne and features in one of the Chindit magazine in the previous listing
