    Awarded to Private Alfred Dobson of the 1st Lincolnshire Regiment. Queen Sudan Medal (3681 PTE. A. DOBSON. 1/LIN. R.). Private Alfred Dobson was born in Hull in East Yorkshire, in 1875. Service papers show he enlisted with the Lincolnshire Regiment on the 11th October 1893 at the age of 18. He saw service abroad in Malta, Egypt, India, Gibraltar and service at home. His discharge papers indicate he was discharged on the 9th October 1915 showing termination of his second engagement on the 9th October 1915.  It also shows that he had reached the service rank of Company Sergeant Major with the 3rd Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment.
