A scarce WW1 Ammunition Box designed for use in the MkV and Medium Mark A British Whippet tanks.
Constructed in light steel with a lift off lid revealing originally six compartments (four partitions now removed) for the storage of articulated ammunition belts for the .303 Hotchkiss machine guns carried in the Whippet.
On one end is a leather carrying handle marked Henry & Co.and a securing strap arrangement on the other which shows some surface cracking to the leather. The lid carries the details whilst further details and instructions are on the inside of the lid. Overall condition is very good with some slight paint splatters.
Dimensions are roughly 425 x 212x 80mm
