Propeller Blade, 9' 1" long, from Zeppelin destroyed by Lieut. W. L. Robinson, V.C., at Cuffley on Sunday, 3rd September, 1916. d by Sergt. F. Whiteman Smith, ith, M.T.. .A.S.C., 60 yards from Found scene of wreck and submitted to "Home Defences," Horse Guards, Whitehall, London, for inspection”   The second postcard is a portrait photo of Lt William Leefe Robinson, and it states “LIEUT. WILLIAM LEEFE ROBINSON, V.C., Worcester Regiment and R.F.C., Who brought down the Zeppelin at Cuffley, near Enfield. ST. JAMES PRESS, ROSOMAN ST., CLERKENWELL, Е.С.”.   The third postcard shows a photograph of Lt Sowrey & Lt Robinson, and it states “Lt. F. SOWREY, D.S.O. & Lt. WM. LEEFE ROBINSON, V.C. The Heroes of the Zeppelin Raids, September, 1916. Sr. JAMES' PRESS. ROSOMAN ST., CLERKENWELL, E.C.”.   HISTORY OF THE RAID. THE raid was carried out by thirteen air- ships, and was thus the most formidable attack which has been made on this country The principal theatre of operations was the Eastern Counties, and the objectives seem to have been London and certain industrial centres in the Midlands. Three airships only were able to approach the outskirts of London. One of them appeared over the northern district at about 2.15 a.m., where she was at once picked up by searchlights and heavily engaged by anti- aircraft guns and aeroplanes. After a few minutes the airship was seen to burst into flames and to fall rapidly towards the earth, at Cuffley, near Enfield, brought down by Lieut. William Leefe Robinson, R.F.C., to whom the V.C. has been awarded.   These three postcards are great pieces of propaganda of how successful the war was going in Britain during WW1 as a motivation and a moral sparked within the British people.    These will be sent via royal mail 1st class signed for and dispatched within two working days.
