A rare set of three boots attributed to Miss Irene Mary Rope, who volunteered her services to the Scottish Women’s Hospital as an Ambulance Driver. Comprising: Little Serbian Phrase Book, with pencil notes ink name “I.M. Rope”. … “Easy Serbian” … similar printed 1915. Some service wear. (3 books)
Miss Irene Mary Rope lived at the Priory Shrewsbury and volunteered for service with the Scottish Women’s Hospital as an Ambulance Driver. After service in Serbia she returned to the UK and served with the British Red Cross, in France and the UK.
