This postcard holds the regimental emblem & insignia of Devonshire regiment. The Devonshire Regiment, the old 11th Foot, has a splendid motto, Semper Fidelis " (Ever Faithful), which has inspired all ranks to great deeds on many a hard-fought battlefield. The Castle of Exeter is borne on the crest of the regiment, which has been connected with Drake's county for nearly 250 years.
