This postcard holds the regimental emblem & insignia of The Lincolnshire Regiment . The Lincolnshire Regiment was the only blue-coated regiment of infantry in the British Army at the time of its raising, nearly 250 years ago. It has a splendid record in the service of King and Country, and all ranks are known as The Lincolnshire Poachers" throughout the Army, from the name of the famous ballad, the air of which is used as the regimental march.
