Boer War Pre Great War British Army General’s Tunic.
A very rare field service tunic, made of light khaki wool material, similar to that found on Boer War Imperial Yeomanry tailored tunics. This example with the pre war feature of a box pleat to the back and wide false waist band with ticket pocket. Another early feature tailored for small size buttons and all rank and buttons are removable characteristic of foreign service tunics. To the shoulder straps matching Lieutenant General rank badges, the collar with loops to accommodate gorget patches. Complete with matching small size General buttons, but please note pocket buttons absent. The interior unlined and regretfully no tailor’s label or name.
Superb condition with no moth damage.
