    King's crown 1949 - 1952 period, double pin brooch maker marked J R Gaunt London.  Good red enamel, silver wash. approx 33mm high.

    Originally the army nursing service formed by Florence Nightingale, later Queen Alexandra became president and it was known as Queen Alexandras Imperial Military Nursing service. In 1949 it became a corps of the army and re named Queen Alexandras Royal army nursing corps.
