About this item
The second of these rare US Airborne Delivery containers used to air drop supplies to troops during D Day, Arnhem and Varsity as well as other operations is this “Container Assembly Aerial Delivery Type 4A”
In excellent I believe unused condition the container is constructed in a heavy green canvas, rectangular in shape and measuring approximately 95 cms x 55cms when loaded and weighing about 8kgs. All parachute straps are in place along with the various clips and end closure ropes.
These were I believe carried externally under the belly of C47s and of course delivered by parachute.
Now rare and an ideal backdrop for any Allied Airborne display.
