Awarded to Private Alfred Pudner of the Royal Marines Light Infantry, Plymouth Division. 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal  (PLY. 15361. A. PUDNER. R.M.L.I.), Defence Medal 1939-45, War Medal 1939-45 & Royal Naval Long Service & Good Conduct (GeoV) (PLY. 15361. A. PUDNER. R.M.). Born 13th May 1894 in Christchurch, Plymouth. At time on enlisting in the Royal Marines his civilian trade is recorded as butchers assistant. He enlisted 22nd May 1911 aged 17years, enlisting in Plymouth. Served through World War One and received his 1914-15 Star Trio medal group. It was the 27th March 1929 that Marine Alfred Pudner was awarded his Royal Naval Long Service & Good Conduct medal. On the 1st May 1933 he was discharged from service as per service record shows. Then records show he enlisted in the Royal Marine Police on the 13th January 1934 seeing service into World War Two receiving his Defence Medal and War Medal pair. Marine Alfred Pudner continued serving with the Royal Marines until 12th May 1949 only to be discharged and his engagement was terminated. Whilst serving with the Marines the recipient married Mary Collins on the 18th September 1916 to be his future wife details taken from the Marriage Records Roll.
