An original World War One era medal grouping, comprising the 1914/15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal and Mercantile Marine Medal, appears to have original ribbon on the Star and MM. Named as follows;
Star - W. NAPIER, GSR., M.F.A.
BWM and Vic - W. NAPIER. GSR. M.F.A.
MMM - WILLIAM NAPIER
William Napier is confirmed in the National Archives database (ADM171/132 and BT 351/1/103188) of Mercantile Fleet Auxiliary/Mercantile Marine Reserve medal entitlement as being entitled to the trio and MMM. His rank is stated as 'Greaser', hence the GSR on his medals. He was born in Belfast in 1862 and held the service number of 176820.
