    RAF Wireless Operators Pre War Long Service Group of Medals.

    A good and interesting long service group of Seven medals awarded to 510868 Sergeant Valentine Wilkinson Watson, who enlisted in 1929 and retired in 1965 on reaching the maximum service age of 55 years.

    Comprising: 1939/45 Star, Africa Star, Pacific Star, Clasp Burma, Defence Medal, War Medal, General Service Medal Clasp Cyprus (SGT RAF Official correction to number), RAF Ling Service  Good Conduct Medal ((GVIR 1948-1952) CPL RAF)). Mounted as originally worn.
    RAF Logbook used by Sgt Watson July 1932 to August 1933 when flying as a Wireless Operator with 7 (B) Squadron.
    RAF Certificate of Service for second period of Engagement.
    Various other items including medal ribbons.


    Sergeant Valentine Wilkinson Watson was born in 1910 and enlisted into the RAF on the 1st August 1929. Qualifying as a Wireless Operator he flew with 7 Squadron and remustered as a Telegraphist on re-enlistment in 1947. He received his final discharge on the 9th June 1965 with a view to Pension.
