1938 Dated Royal Artillery Badged Steel Helmet Typical for Dunkirk
Khaki painted crown with lower rolled edge brim. The side of the helmet with period red and blue diamond transfer for the Royal Artillery .Inner brim dated 1938 with maker also the chinstrap clips dated 1938 .Black treated linen liner ,Early pattern oval rubber crown pad .The frame with Maker and date 1938 . Sprung webbing chinstrap with old repair to one side . Some minor service wear and paint chips but a good untouched helmet.Unusual in the fact all parts are the same early date . Top screw might have been changed in its working life .Typical for a helmet used by the B.E.F in France at the start of the war and the retreat to Dunkirk.
