A fine example of an Edward V11 (1901 -1910) Royal Engineers Officer’s Dress Cap made in India by the firm Ranken &Co.

Constructed in a high quality navy blue wool, with red piping and a matching hat band in velvet all in very good condition and free from moth or other damage, the hat band with a RE GR V11 cap badge retaining its original frosting.

The leather chinstrap is secured by two GRV11 buttons, the leather peak the bullion rank decoration of an officer.

Inside, the Cap is lined with red silk and a pale leather adjustable sweatband, again in very good condition. The underside of the peak is lined in green.
