An original British Royal Navy cotton work cap dating from the 1950s.
This cap is a typical Royal Navy workwear item. It is made from an indigo blue coloured cotton drill which is the same as the Action Working Dress trousers. It features a stitched peak which can be worn flipped up as shown in the pictures or down over the eyes. It features a small elastic section to the rear although most of the elasticity has gone.
Inside the cap the original label is still present and it bears the title 'Cap, Blue Drill' along with the vocab number 22139. The maker's name of J. Compton Sons & Webb Ltd is also present.
The cap is approximately a size 7.
The cap is in good wearable condition with no serious wear or damage. It is faded out and has some stains etc but overall it displays well. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which has small issues commensurate with age.
A nice original Royal Navy work cap which still has its original label!
