    About this item

A stunning original Royal Artillery officer's coloured field service cap made by 'A. J. White' around the time of the Second World War.

This cap is a very fine, high quality example which really stands out when compared to others from this period. It is made from red and navy blue coloured felted wool and features gold bullion piping around the top of the skirt and along the centre of the crown. The cap is fitted with a large size bullion Royal Artillery cap badge which is again very fine, and gilt RA buttons are fitted to the front of the cap.

The interior of the cap is fully lined and features a velvet headband. The original makers label is present and bears the makers name of 'A. J. White Ltd' and the address of 8 Burlington Gardens, W.1. The King's crown buttons and address date the cap to being made in either the 1930s or 1940s.

The cap is a larger size and the opening measures 11" long when laid flat.

The condition of the cap is very good as can be seen in the pictures. It displays very well with only limited signs of wear and age but please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-owned, vintage item.

A very fine private purchase example which would be hard to better!
