Rare Original WW2 Women's Junior Air Corps Field Service Cap - Size 7
A scarce original early Second World War Women's Junior Air Corps field service cap in good condition and in a size 7.
The W.J.A.C was formed in March 1940 for girls between the ages of 14 and 17 and by 1942 there were over 20,000 enrolled across 212 units. In the same year no more new units were formed which would suggest that this rare cap dates from the early part of the war.
The hat is made from a grey coloured wool flannel material and features two metal Women's Junior Air Corps buttons to the front. The cap is fitted with a cloth embroidered W.J.A.C cap badge which has been hand stitched onto the cap. Inside the cap is lined and features a cotton sweatband. The size is marked as 7.
The hat is in good condition with some signs of wear and age. Overall it displays very well but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
A good example of this hard to find cap. A must have for the serious collector!
