    About this item

WW1 Pattern Army Officer’s Issue Cap.

A good example of an Officer’s Stiff cap of the Great War pattern tailored in fine cloth with General Service brass buttons and the correct pattern Officer thin leather chinstrap. The interior with leather sweatband and unusual WD issue stamp for 1923. Overall condition is good retaining a good shape. Dusty with a few moth nips. Approx sweatband Diameter 22 inches

It was common for newly commissioned Officer’s to receive cash towards the purchase of a uniform or take a War Department issue. Although this cap was issued in 1923 it still conforms to the Great War issue.
