Heer Tropical M40 Feldmutze

An excellent example of a 1943 dated M40 Feldmutze in unissued condition.
Produced in olive / khaki ribbed cotton absolutely in keeping with those seen in use in North Africa but used generally in arid climates.
The insignia features a pale blue Heer eagle machine embroidered in the BeVo style and machine stitched in place with machine embroidered rosette on tan backing All insignia appears originally applied.
The interior of the cap is fully lined in lightweight red cotton and clearly stamped to Clemens Wagner and dated Jan 43, size 54. At each side is a single ventilation eyelet, the exterior of which in painted in a tan enamel.
