About this item
A good original example of a British Army Forage cap in a harder to find large size 7 1/2.
This cap was the standard issue headwear for the British Army and Home Guard from the outbreak of the Second World War until 1943 when it was replaced by the General Service beret.
The cap features to brass kings crown buttons to the front as is usual. Inside the cap the original makers mark is present although it has faded somewhat leaving most of the details illegible. Part of the date can be seen as '194' meaning it was made between 1940 and 1942. Crucially the size is still present and marked as 7 1/2.
The condition of the cap is good and it displays well showing only limited signs of age and wear. There are a few moth holes and grazes as shown in the pictures but overall it still presents well.
A good original wartime cap in a hard to find larger size.
