About this item
A very nice example of a post 1952 / cold war RAF Group Captains Service Dress Cap by Bates of London.
Overall condition is very good with just one small area of wear perhaps caused by the chinstrap rubbing against it. Other than that, the cloth is completely free from damage retaining virtually all of the original colour without fading.
The bullion cap badge shows the Queens Crown and is without damage, as is the mohair cap band.
A patent leather chinstrap sits above the patent leather peak with the bullion embroidered oakleaves toned but again without damage.
Inside, the sweatband is clean with all stitching firm and named, Homes. The celluloid protector has darkened and adhered to the cloth but is without loss.
Size approximately 58cms.
