WW1 Battle of the Somme Period A Pattern Raw Edge Brodie Steel Helmet
WW1 Battle of the Somme Period British “A” Pattern Raw Edge Brodie Steel Helmet.
A very rare “Been There” example of the early pattern helmet. The raw edge shell has been field painted with darker green sand rough paint. This has part peeled to reveal the original first pattern factory light green paint. This paint can also be found to the interior. The lining is now absent, but the leather chin strap remains with the original cotton cloth to the crown. Remains in very good condition and an excellent display item.
