1944 Royal Navy Warrant Officer Engineering Branch No 5 Dress Jacket
Royal Navy Warrant Officers No 5 wool jacket, bearing rank insignia accompanied by engineering branch braid. This jacket is named and dated 1944, though no research has been undertaken.
The jacket is in double breasted dark blue wool, with eight Kings Crown gilt brass buttons to the front and one plastic internal button. The WO rank braid is accompanied by a maroon cloth braid, indicating he belonged to the engineering branch. The tailors label states that it was made in Chatham, which at the time was a staple of the Navy.
The condition is generally fair, though there are some areas of moth damage as pictured. These include a patch at the front skirt, along with a small area at the rear of the lower sleeve.
The approximate chest size is 19 inches laid flat, with 24 inch sleeve length shoulder to hem.
